Up mine to three boards. I will build more than one that way I have a spare for someone else that needs one
VIC v5 driver board order list
Fifteen boards on order. Should be in my hands in a couple of weeks at most.
Anyone that hasn't PM'd me their mailing address, now's the time.

The boards are on their way...
Yes they are. Good time to get your components ordered.
I'm still missing some mailing addresses, so please don't forget to PM me this information if you haven't already done so.

Boards are in. Looks like I may have a few extras if anyone wants to PM their mailing address to me.
Boards are coming your way. Check your private messages for tracking numbers.
OK, I receive it tomorrow. Still securing funds for Mouser.

Got my board today, looks great!!!
Thanks Matt!
Just ordered my components through Mouser using the BOM, went through just fine. Thanks to Henne and whoever else worked on creating the BOM, it saved the rest of us all that time.

Good deal. Hopefully all the items contained in the BOM are still in-stock. One may have to carefully find alternate parts if not. Things like resistors and capacitors isn't too hard to find alternates for. The chips, transistors and current sense parts really need to be a match. If anyone runs into this situation, give a holler and I'll try to help out.
When you guys get your parts and are ready to start soldering them on, there's a few "quirks" I have with my design we should talk about. It's just a style I use that works for me, but may not be familiar to anyone that hasn't worked with me at the board level like this before. To me it's quite logical and hopefully once I explain it in more detail you'll see where I'm coming from.

This 330nF cap really needs to have the same footprint. This one may work:

Man, from the time I built the BOM, I really wouldn't have thought items would go out of stock so quickly. Fortunately Mouser has quite a few alternate components.
I ran in the same problem of the backorders :) Thx for the update!
Did they email you guys about the backordered items?
I didn't get anything from them, just ordered it in hopes they had everything.

Nope, haven't heard anything yet... I recon it takes a while to process it. You could perhaps contact them and let them send what they already have and put in a second order with the alternatives for the backordered items.
I'm just going to wait it out for now. If I don't get everything in a few weeks I'll go and change it. I still need to buy a 3D printer so either way I'll be waiting.
I have not been back home yet still up north working. Perhaps in 2 weeks I will be back home.

Yes! Finally got the boards today!! The customs office charged me €25 import tax on it though... What a rip off!
Anyhow, I hope to start assembly this weekend. Thx again to Matt for sending the boards!

If I would have known about that I would have asked if it could be prepaid and cleared in advance. Learn something new every day.

Yep, VAT and a 'handling fee'. Everything must pass the toll booth :) Soon we'll be taxed for every breath we take.
Anyhow, impossible to know in advance and of course not a problem. :) I'm glad I received them!

Good deal Dom. That's great news!

Hi guys,
A quick update! I assembled the board and it looks quite neat! I'm not going to show you the bottom side, as my soldering techniques clearly needs some more practice... I do have a few remarks to take into account I'd like to share, to help others. Matt, if I'm saying something wrong here component-wise, please do correct me.
Anyway, still need to add some components, and finish the rest of my setup, so it will take some before I can start testing...
With regards,
Henne

- It seems a 15k resistor was missing from the BOM list? On the blueprint, it's resistor R4.2. I assume this should be 1/4 watt also. So this might be a suitable part: http://www.mouser.be/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=iFBwIILKtq67bFeS%2fc08TA%3d%3d
- The replacement for the 120 ohm quarter watt resistor was linked to a 120k ohm resistor (see above in thread). The original seems to be in stock again, so best to stick with this one.
- The alternative for C3.3 is a bit small for the hole placement on the board, maybe this one would be a better alternative.
- Don't forget the jumpers, as I did :)
Anyway, still need to add some components, and finish the rest of my setup, so it will take some before I can start testing...
