Time to Have Some Fun!

Everyone is invited to the build off!!!!

Watch the video for details!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXsd88Z093U

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeWmW3zFMTo&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The rules are you must build the pulse motor new! you cant pull out an old pulse motor for entries.

when your are complete you must upload a video to here or the IEAC (http://iaec.forumco.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=624) thread via you tube or directly. (please zip the file if you do upload here directly.)

I will update the thread once i have a link to the IEAC forums once its ready.

it can be mechanical hydraulic pneumatic or electrical! or all/any!!! as long as its pulsed and its moving!!! it dose not need to perform work! its just needs to move!

if you don't get done in time that's ok. post what you have anyway! your still in to win!!!

you have until June 21 midnight your time to enter!

go and build!!

The goal of this build off is to use your resources!

like i did for the VoltZilla project!: http://ecomodder.com/blog/forkencycle-dirt-cheap-diy-electric-motorcycle-made-from-forklift-parts/
http://rwgresearch.com/open-projects/voltzilla-ev-motorcycle/

lets get started!!!

That would be cool Nate to print out parts for it.:D:P
I have about 1/3 of it drawn up already.  It will be mostly printed and use standard parts.  I'll be trying to push the limits of printing with/without supports.  Lol. Should be interesting.

How many people are planning on entering?

Nate
Hi Nate, just a thought, if some of your print needs adjustment, use your soldering iron to fix it, works very well. As far as members entering the contest, I would imagine there will be many, I myself am not going to, I just have to much going on, my father-in-law  is 81, he fell and broke his shoulder, we just put him in the hospital today, I'm in the waiting room right now using my laptop to send this message to you, Jeff.

@ russ and tinman

I am > officially < donating a solar panel as a prize for the winner as decided by whoever is judging. Just talking to my distributor to have it sent out.

It will be 10 or 20 watts, most likely monocrystalline.

Thanks
Kyle Carrington

Correct. Grade A , warrantied CE rated, proper aluminum framed panel. As soon as I have more details, I'll post them here.  Most likely 10 or 20 watts mono crystalline. The complicated part, is, I have to work out way to do the shipping communications; most likely the best affordable way will be for me to have the panel dropshipped directly to the winner, that will keep my cost down a bit. A fair bit, actually as MY shipping rates and my distributors are hugely different.

Thanks,
Kyle

Thanks for the opportunity Russ. Not sure if I've broken any rules but I've revisited the ossie motor and changed the rotor to a cylinder on an axle and the driving coil to a Rodin. Good fun, kept me away from work for a couple of days.

Looking good!  I'm not even sure mine is going to work yet!  I may have to go back to the drawing board a couple more times...

Update: OK guys I just got word that the panels are enroute to me, and that's (2) 10 watt panels. Monocrystalline.

I was going to drop ship to the winner, but... I most likely will not, as I have 10 such panels on order.

Basically, it all depends where on Earth the winner lives!

I reserve the right to drop ship, especially if the winner is in Europe. No sense shipping something all around the planet, first LOL.

Anyway, as soon as I get em' I'll shoot a vid of the prize. They should be quite nice! In full sun, I anticipate about 7-800 mA output, and the hopes are, that I've provided a prize, that is (sort of) within the realm/region of input, for the average pulse motor project! That was the concept, anyway LOL

This donation is an effort to encourage experimentation in the field of electronics and energy. It is my foremost thought, that not only is the best yet to come, but that perhaps even the brightest ideas and inventors, haven't even gotten started... and it's a pleasure to promote new and upcoming thinkers into the tank.

One of the best ways to do that, is to provide an encouraging and equal opportunity open source environment, which is exactly what Russ and Tinman are all about; and this is my own effort to support that very thing; that which is ... all that they do... so to speak.

Cheers All
Happy Building.

That's fine. Whatever the cost, I will pay it to make good on my offer :)

On Thu, Jun 14, 2012 at 8:23 PM, my distributor wrote:
Hi Kyle,

No problem, I can drop ship anywhere you like.

To ship the 10W panel outside US and Canada, the shipping cost can be more than the panel itself.

Thanks,
Mark
so it's now official, makes no difference where the winner is, they'll receive the prize :)
