Hello everybody in the Pulse Motor Build Off.
Here is my final entry.  I had loads of fun and will continue my research and share it here.

Peace.

I fried my Hall sensor! :(   Any idea if I could use something like a feedback coil to trigger something, almost how a flyback works?
Do you have a reed switch, or make one , Jeff.:D
A computer fan has one it it.  Treven

Well, here it is, entry # 2. Verry efficient pulse motor:
 Note. The supper cap is damaged so I will need to get a new one and try the run time again. ( over voltage'ed the cap and it's swollen)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCriICVZqXM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I can get this to run on under 10mw of power but rpm is very slow.

Buzzes right along on that cell phone battery. (3.7v  lithium-ion)

Uses about 23 mw running on the cell phone battery.  About 6ma at 3.8v.

Here are some close ups:

here is a schematic of the circuit.

God bless and best of luck all!

I added some scope shots and fun stuff here:

Hi HolySmoke,

I'm glad you showed the receiving property of the starship coil.  Tesla considered the bifilar pancake as one of the best coil configurations for wireless power reception... I have found that the starship works well for both TX and RX.
You may wish to try moving the starship coil away at different angles to your pulse motor, and see what happens to your electrostatically induced ringing waveform.

I have several one magnet no bearing bedini setups with different size starship coils and different size neosphere rotors, as well as various configurations of associated pickup coils.  I also have a couple of exciter circuits, and a crystal style AM radio.  Of course, the exciters will step all over the AM radio, light a neon or an led on an AV plug, etc.  They are designed to do that.  What surprised me was when the starship coil driven machines did the same thing, at a distance.
The higher frequency motors with the tiny rotors will warble and strangely modulate the AM signal, while the larger rotor models will just scream at their frequency of operation over the existing AM signal.

Further, with the scope on one starship (unpowered) I was able to see the impulses broadcast from the other starship driven device.  I found this to be somewhat directional in nature, and came to the general assumption that the geometry of the coil both a) focuses the B field very well in the aircore of the coil and b) acts as an E-field antenna.

Russ, in your last video, you bounced around several terms for the field collapse spike we see in all these types of motors.  Nice little motor, btw.  Clean.  I have taken to calling the spike the "electroradiant event" or "radiant event"  after hearing Lindemann and Dollard call it that.  In my mind, it allows me to seperate that from the more traditional terms applied to what is going on there.

Take a look at it on a couple of different scales:

Cool,thanx Russ-am still at it -i want it to run,but im done for the night.
Hopefully i can get the MOT box back in working order for tomorrow...
we will base on the work at hand as again. the efforts is what counts but get it done some time because i want to see it do same stuff even tho we will not be looking it it from a judging stand point...

its sweet! ~Russ

here are some scope shots of the little guy...

here is the scope shot across the didoes. so the ground is on the opposite side of the battery lead. the small dash is the 0 line or "ground". and get this i'm seeing 5+ volts Peek to Peek ?? lol battery is at 3.921v? cool!
[attachment=1899]
[attachment=1900]
[attachment=1901]

ok so here i wanted to see what was going on with the pulse. so this photo is 5Ms/d of one pulse:
[attachment=1902]
then i "zoomed in" on the start of the pulse and here is what you will see, this is 20 us/d :
[attachment=1903]
and zoom in more , this is 2 us/d:
[attachment=1904]

kinda interesting there is 4 pulses in that one pulse. i think that's contact bounce or the reed switches doing there thing... hummm.

now here is a supper close up of the battery, scope across the battery, it seems like the back spike is higher than the draw pulse?!?!

so you have 200mV/d and we have a battery drop of 600mv but then we have a back spike of about 750mv?!?! cool!

this is 50ns/d so its fast!
[attachment=1905]
then here you can see all the little spikes where the contact make and brake that i showed in the other photos:
[attachment=1906]

just some interesting stuff...
also, been running on that 3.7v cell phone battery and it has been 24 hrs so far, battery went from 4.022v to 3.921v and from what i understand that battery will settle at 3.7v for 80% of its discharge... so basically the top off voltage is just being used till the battery balances again... we shall see how long it runs...

right now its about 270 RPM. using the scope measurements...

also, after watching it go round and round a had to add a little something something...
 [attachment=1907]

hahahah

here is a clip:
[attachment=1908]

good stuff... back to the grinding stone for now on SM stuff! good times!

Blessings! ~Russ

Hello, Twinbeard,
I have also noticed if you place a long iron core between the two or more starships that they couple very well.  I have been toying with an idea of winding a starship coil on a jig with slanted posts instead of a tube shape for the core I propose a cone shape to really focus the pulse, similar to the challis coil, or receive a smaller passing magnet to amplify.  In this manner a very focused beam can be generated, or a large cone shaped force to come out the other end.  Perhaps I could utilize this cone coil for my hula hoop spinner, aka rail gun in a loop.

So Russ, I decided to measure the power draw on my pulse motor after I saw your entry on Sunday. So I let it run all night last night on a fairly dead 9 volt battery. At 6.3 volts this morning and 8.5 milli-amps current draw with a 33% duty cycle ON (67% off) it is under 20 milliwatts and spinning at around 750 RPM. Still charging my 12 volt battery with the run coil back EMF and lighting an LED with the trigger coil back EMF.

Awesome sauce!!! That's really good! Seems alot of others are also measuring curent draw and it's  cool to see so manny with so little draw! That's cool!

Thanks for the update!

@Russ, TM and all:

I've been away from the computer a fair bit, so I may be out of the loop here...

The last I caught was Russ mentioning in a video that the winner would be announced, in about a week, I think...

To collect the prize, I will need the following, and this can be sent privately to me using a method stated below:

1. Name of Winner, first and last.
2. Full postal mailing address, AND physical street address for delivery
3. Email
4. Country Code, Area Code, and phone number.
5. Your Choice (2) 10 watt solar panels or (1) 20 watt panel. Let me know which you would like.

The information will be held in utmost privacy and will never be released or sold, as to cause and privacy issues. The information submitted is ONLY for the purposes of having FEDEX, UPS, or the like properly deliver the product. The winning party will never be contacted, for any purpose other than delivering the prize.

Please be aware that the panels WILL be marked Gift, as they are a prize. Hopefully that will influence and customs agents; however, I cannot be held responsible for any additional customs charge, or duties, tariffs.

This is a sincere offering and not some bullPoo scheme or scam. I am am merely contributing to the efforts of this forum, The IAEC forum, Russ Gries, and Tinman.
In many other cases Free Energy forums are inundated by either advertising or bullPoo e-book marketing. I for one, am willing to make a small effort to contribute to the concept that a forum can give back, instead of take. My small contribution to a different and more encouraging online environment / experience.
