If you do not own a scope and are having trouble troubleshooting. You could make a signal tester to help you out.

After soldering the board you can apply a non-conductive grease or oil to the copper traces to prevent oxidization.

Building the Box  V7.0:
http://open-source-energy.org/rwg42985/russ/russtic_testfiles/Russtic_FG_V7.0_Build%205.jpg

If you are using a different type box, an alternative could be to rotate the board 180 Deg and place the Heat Sink on the outside of the box. There is a fan port behind the Heat Sink, but these Mosfets may get to hot for this box depending on what you plan on running threw them.

http://open-source-energy.org/rwg42985/russ/russtic_testfiles/Russtic_FG_V7.0_Build%207.jpg

*Note: Resistors pots with low resistance can be added in series with R4 and R9 for fine tuning.

Thank you Russ!

I am only using the two meter's. I might just hook them to SIG 1. Still working on a switch system

Yes I can finally confirm that yes it work too I was scrounging together the last bit of parts. Then when i thought I was done, I hooked up the Wires backwards On the IRFPs and made some sparks with my Oscilloscope :(. But now the Russtic is up and working.. Pics up soon... And maybe a video

Last night I sent a spark threw my usb oscilloscope and blew all my scope and all usb ports
I was using a LARGE 8a 250v Variac hooked up to a bridge rec... I didn't realized IRFP leads were reversed
The variac dial was set to "0". But as soon as I attached the scope reference to that negative lead from bridge/variac, i got a spark, and it fried my scope and all my usb ports

So I can't say if the reverse leads blew my scope.?? But..if your using a USB scope you may want to isolate things. If you can find a fused USB card or a powered isolated usb adaptor.

See you all at the show,,

I got my board from Kevin Yesterday, let me tell you he did a great job etching out the board. I got all my holes drilled and ic sockets and resistors put on today, and also ordered a few parts that I did't have. I cant wait to get it up and running.

I am sorry to hear your scope blew Kevin, can it be sent back for repair? I bought my usb scope DSO-5200A, just before it went up in price $200.00, plan on using it when building the Rustic circuit. How could you protect the scope, do they even make a fused usb board or an isolated adapter? Thanks, Jeff.

Hi everyone,

-First thing i wanted to talk about is Box Layout. Someone mentioned to me that these Mosfet chips can get very hot. I have a fan port right behind the heat sinks.
-We will see soon if that will be enough.
-A solution would be to mount the Heat Sink outside of the box. Possibly by rotating the board 180 Deg. and mounting heat sinks on the outside of the box .
-Also it was brought to my attention that this circuit could take 20 min to warm up to run smoothly
-It may make more sense to mount the gating switch and red LED bulb in the top row. In line with Freq Gen 1

I am glad your enjoying board gpssonar. Keeps us updated on your progress

As for the Oscilloscope, I am thinking that a 2 fuses could be place on the probe wire. I am not sure if this would work or could be done. but I think that is a good route.
Testing low votage you're safe, so you'll be fine testing if your circuit is working correctly. if its something with more power, test with a meter first.

Kevin

Pulsing Box Complete. New Pictures posted and Description update. See first Post
For HHO Production, Ideally this circuit would be hooked up to a VIC Coil and then to a Cell.

To test the circuit, a LC Tank circuit can be used instead of a VIC. See Attached Image. You can see and Example of a Inductor and Diode Setup attached to Cell. (Top Right Corner).

I am relatively new to electronics and alternative energy information and still learning.  I am trying to build the WFC Freq Gen 7.0 and include the 4P2T switch to route output 1 or 2 thru the amp meter.  The circuit board and PCB 7.0 do not seem to show that circuit if I am reading it right, and I can't tell from the pictures of the wiring exactly how the two switches on the front left or the front panel are wired.  I believe that the two switches on the back panel are SW 9 and SW 10 that just turn the outputs off.  The bottom right large toggle switch on the front panel is completely obscured in the photos, so I not sure of it's function or wiring.  I would appreciate some help with wiring and description of the various switches and other panel components.  I have looked back through YouTube videos and forums but still haven't figured it out.

Thanks,   Dave

Hey Dave, thanks for joining the convo.

Thanks for posting the drawing Russ!! Suprized you still have that :).

So dave that drawing only shows the amp meter wiring withe the 4P2T Switch, the voltage meter is pretty strait forward with a 2P2T Switch. These switches are not needed and were only used to save space and meters, So I was able to use 2 meters instead of 4. (Also the large 4P2T switch is just about impossible to find, another reason why I didn't post that part)

Good Luck,

Kevin
