I was thinking flintstones foot power until it drove off and you could see under it. :P

Probably a small engine or motorcycle engine.

Nope Ive heard of it but dont remember seeing it.  There is one old movie that I have never found or even found the name of it. lol I've been searching for awhile.

It was about the future, gas cars were banned.  All cars were electric and robots pretty much did everything.  This guy had an old race car taken apart and hidden under his garage.  Things got bad and they put the car together and raced across the country stopping at abandoned gas stations to pump from the bottom of the tanks.  On there way to California (last free state ironically) they were being ambushed by an airplane with guns.
I kinda remember it being a cheezy movie, maybe made for TV.   lol I just want to see it again.:P

lol Wow, sometimes it just takes asking the right questions, err, using the right google search... I found it lol.

It was called the Last Chase:

This made me so curious about the film I went and read the site Nate mentioned.  Turns out it is apparently on YouTube, although I can't check at work: MST3K version of it search "MST3K - The Last Chase 1/11" to find the first part...

Yep I found that too.:)  Stayed up way too late and watched up to part 4. :P
Sure sounds like the US government, when they force everyone to "turn in" their cars.  Lots to learn from this movie.:s

They are not our cars to start with, unless you happen to have in your possession the Manufacture Statement of Origin (MSO).  99.9% of all vehicles are registered with the State (where the MSO is surrendered) and as such, are property of the State.  Another dirty trick our lovely politicians setup to make sure the average 14th Amendment Citizen owns no property and thus has no rights.  You don't think these dudes sit around all day and do nothing do you?

Another good reason to build an open source home built car.  In the State of Wisconsin, they have a fairly easy set of rules to follow to do such a thing.  The state patrol will issue you a VIN number after a safety inspection.

The only way to get this, I reckon, is to buy the car new, paid in full and out of state from where you live. This is when the dealer won't surrender the MSO to the DMV.

Information regarding the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO):

What one looks like:

If it's on security paper, it must be really important.
