Free Energy Hoaxes: What's Real and What's Fake?

I see many "free energy" and "perpetual motion" devices demonstrated on Youtube. Is there any kind of "index" of those that are proven fake? Is anyone debunking them?

I just saw one with a simple coil (with a pigtail in the middle) with a magnet on each side of it. It was easily lighting a small bulb.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it take more than a stationary coil between two stationary magnets to make power? Doesn't it need some sort of motion?

I find it impossible to accept that it does anything, with one possible exception: Many of these devices could be feeding off the ac magnetic field present just about everywhere. There are wires all around, and more outside on the poles, all generating a magnetic field. Might some of these things be feeding off that? (giving the false impression of free  energy)

I would like to see them working a mile outside of town, away from any power lines, then we'll talk free energy. (then I'll believe it)

Even John Huchison's mystery tube (heavy brass looking thing with a black wire from one end and a red one from the other), which clearly puts out volts, might be feeding off the surrounding magnetic fields. I'd like to see what it does out in the country. (NOT that John's trying to fake anything)

Has anyone thought of any of this yet?

Thanks,
Gary S.

Ok, good. I'd like to see an index of them, with pictures maybe. Maybe I'll work on compiling something like that myself. Hmmm... With so may out there, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way though - it may be easier to list the few that do have credibility or potential (no pun intended).

I do see the public debunk them from time to time, and I also see the fakers NOT putting up much of a defense, either. hmmm... That says something right there.

Sterling Allen, Mark Dansie and Gary Hendershot do a good job of this.

Thank goodness for them guys.

There are a lot of really good video editors out there too--even young kids now have the hang of it and post special effect type videos you would think could only come from Hollywood.  The knuckleheads that do these videos just love to poke fun of the free energy guys--it's real cute and funny to them.  I've even built/replicated one or two fakes so yeah, some do slip by.  It's all about discernment.  At the end of the day though, sometimes you just have to go with your gut--find out for yourself.

Until you build it yourself, see it working and eliminate all the possibilities that there might be some normal effect happening, they're ALL bullsh*t.

Theories abound, most are hogwash and will lead you up the garden path. Look behind the talk and try to imagine what that person is getting out of his statements: fame, notoriety, money, attention. Dig into the human mind for the answers to most claims; investigate the intelligence of the claimant for an idea of whether they could really possibly undertsand what they're doing.

No-one is getting a patent on something they can't explain with either regular science or a REALLY good mathematical proof. Very few make a living out of this area. That's just the way it is, baby.

And no, I'm not a debunker or naysayer, just a realist.
