Slic3r 0.9.7

I've been trying to use Slicer 0.9.7 since it has a whole lot of nice features.  One of them being support for 2 extruders.  The problem is it does not seem to slice any of my bobbin models correctly.  It leaves out entire parts and cries that it is not a manifold model.  The same model works fine in skeinforge.  I've even created my own support on the one piece bobbin because Slic3r leaves it out.  After doing that it decided to leave out the entire core body of the bobbin and only sliced the bobbin walls.  Sure is frustrating!

Slic3r sure is pedantic when it comes to non-manifold models. I just find with SketchUp where in the model the non-manifoldness are and fix from there. Could be frustrating but will need to be cautious about that.

I've been looking but i think the holes are too small to find. lol

Well, after a day of design, slice, print, redesign, slice, slice, slice, print..
I think I narrowed down one of Slic3r's limitations.  When working on the 13 slot bobbins, I found that the tiny wire holes are what Slicer thinks are "holes in the mesh".  After I deleted those, I no longer got any error pop ups.  The holes are very tiny, don't print as a clear passage anyway.
There is another issue that Slic3r still eliminates complete sections of models, with no error indicated.  I need to trouble shoot that more.

Are you running slic3r in linux or windoze? I'm trying to install it in windoze but the installation fails. Any tips?
