Just wondering if anyone has played (experimented) with an electret. I read on wikipedia that when approached by a permanent magnet, a pushing force 90 degrees to the approach vector is generated. I'm thinkin' magnet motor? Here's a link on how to make an electret http://only1egg-productions.org/AltSci/ElectrostaticMotors/Electrets/Electret.html
In the search for the illusive monopole magnet, this could be considered? Oh and there's a flaw in the 'electret' text, Faraday didn't live in 1339 but that has to be 1839.

there was another thread on this but i cant locate it.

after reading the patent i had thought maybe i can make my own electret

so i decided to make one using my negative ion generator . and foil, and a dielectric material.  i will show you what i did in a updated youtube movie i will make.

i still am working on making it better, but because i have a lot of joint pain i thought it could help.

so far i made one patch by 7.5 kilo volt neg ion generator., i put it on my shoulder it felt nice, i charged one up for my elbow it really helped make me feel better i think. lol.
update later,,

the cool thing about the way i have done mine is, it can be recharged after each use... or for a greater effect can be stimulated by ion generator upon application.

I was looking into aerogels recently and found, somehow, a guy that made a vacuum chamber that he used to vapor deposit nano layers of materials onto substrates. I thought of that (and Russ' papp popper) when I read this patent that you linked to. Particularly when it mentioned a teflon substrate sheathed with aluminum as an electret. It wasn't clear if the teflon substrate produces the 'permanent' kind of electret or not. I don't know that I personally would want to invest the time and $ into something like that though. I look forward to your video(s).

ps. Interesting... I don't recall posting a link to an egg production site? What's up with that?

here it is. the Teflon tape likes to be  repelled from the neg ion generator, and holds a charge that causes the Teflon to stick to your body. just like static cling.:D
it also will hold a charge for a good time if you don't touch it to much.. it wont hold a charge for 100 years. but it is rechargeable when needed to be applied to a wound, or joint pain.
or perhaps to electrify the blood like bob beck has done.. total cost for a reusable patch, 15 bucks. that includes the generator also..
if you read the patent, the static process of charging was used in a similar fashion. several kilo volts are used.. 7.5kv also you can feel a cooling effect on the surface of the skin when it is applied. one could even say ozone production if the wire is close to the patch at all times. so i say you have a leak down of charge in this case. a discharge, or corona breakdown along the edges of the patch..

You could probably just have your spouse drag their feet on the carpet and then touch your owies. :P
