Anyone know where to get a decent price on insulated stainless steel magnet wire?  Perhaps regular steel magnet wire?  Stan Meyer mentioned using it in one of his memo's for his inductors...  However at $1.25/foot will prevent me from checking it out...

I  have a salvaged roll of wire.  I think it is ss solid with red insulation.  .022 thick and .050 (over insulation) total probably 150 ft.  P.M. me back and I will ship it if you think it will work.

I've been using Hobby Lobby iron floral wire on a project:

Bad part is the spools are only 150 feet, and the enamel comes off easy.  You could try stainless welding wire, it is rather springy though.

i'm working on a source from china... my buddy Alan is doing it as he lives there... :) we will find it and i will let everyone know so we can all play with it! for cheep! :) if we all pitch in lets say 50$ we can get a huge spool... ill keep you posted when i find out ill let you know. ~Russ
