Okey first of all i want to say hi my name is Tom in new here. Been an fan of Russes videos for quite an while. I live in sweden and thats why my english is abit off. So try to follow what im thinking.
Im trying to build an big powersupply 12volt. I do allot of work on car amps and get a whole bunch in return from time to time. I want to be able to easyly power an 1000watt rms amp at home.
The fuses on the amp is three 30amp fuses. I guess its 90amps total or something like that it would draw at full tilt of 12volts.
I got a bunch of computer powersuppys because i do allot of work with computers to. And i figured i might use them for the powersupply right. Problem i ran into is that when bass hits the powersupplys just senses short. And turns off. Thats no good.
So i figured with an large bank of caps i might be able to even out the load on the psu's and keep the signal clean to the amps on the same time. My problem is that i dont know a whole deal about caps. I like a few that really packs an punch sutable for 12v to 15v.
Dont know where to get them from. Or how to see the polarity of caps. Id like to be able to output twise the power i need from the psu's if i can get that i got some headroom.
Goal is to build an kick ass test rig and home system on the same time out of it.
What do you guys think? Is it doable? Or is it easyer to get an 12v battery and then having some charge sercuit for it? It will be under quite an workout i think. Thats why i think it wont last.
