My summer project

Im planning on starting a summer project to convert a briggs and stratton 4 stroke lawnmower engine to run on HHO and NO2,
I did alot of reading on the Nitrogen reactions that take place and Ive come to conclude that this might actually work. Its similar to the Geet motor i think.

So basicly Nitric oxide is a by-product of combustion of substances in the air, as in automobile engines, and is produced naturally during the electrical discharges of lightning in thunderstorms.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitric_oxide

a few other reactions take place as well
Nitric oxide is then reacted with oxygen in air to form nitrogen dioxide.

    2 NO (g) + O2 (g) → 2 NO2 (g) (ΔH = −114 kJ/mol)

This is subsequently absorbed in water to form nitric acid and nitric oxide.

    3 NO2 (g) + H2O (l) → 2 HNO3 (aq) + NO (g) (ΔH = −117 kJ/mol)

The nitric oxide is cycled back for reoxidation. Alternatively, if the last step is carried out in air:

    4 NO2 (g) + O2 (g) + 2 H2O (l) → 4 HNO3 (aq)

NO2 exists in equilibrium with the colourless gas dinitrogen tetroxide (N2O4):

    2 NO2 is in equilibrium with N2O4

Dinitrogen tetroxide is a powerful oxidizer. N2O4 is hypergolic with various forms of hydrazine, i.e., they burn on contact without a separate ignition source, making them popular bipropellant rocket fuels.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinitrogen_tetroxide

The oxidizer is usually nitrogen tetroxide (NTO) or nitric acid. In the United States, the nitric acid formulation most commonly used is type III-A, called inhibited red-fuming nitric acid (IRFNA), which consists of HNO3 + 14% N2O4 + 1.5-2.5% H2O + 0.6% HF (added as a corrosion inhibitor).   http://www.braeunig.us/space/propel.htm

so using the hight tempatures and pressure of burning HHO it will create NOX gasses I will then bubble the exaust gasses through water like the geet process this water will also be used for the hho tank.  I then will recycle the gasses from my exaust bubbler tank through my (gas gun or ozone generator ) . were i can mix it with fresh air at whatever ratio i want.
Now im thinking because its a good oxidizer i can possibly run this as a closed system once its warmed up and get good NOX gas production, since the HHO is producing its own oxygen to.  the water will become a dilute nitric acid solution and im thinking it will even help with the HHO production.
and to avoid melting my motor down im thinking of spaying some water mist in with an injecter at a certain time in the cycle. the vapor may do this anyway.
I may go with a spark plug injector or just inject it very close to the intake.

so ya im not trying to slow the burn rate like stan implies this is an engine not a bbq lol

for safety read this http://www.orcbs.msu.edu/msds/linde_msds/pdf/050.pdf

here is a rudementary concept drawing that i made to get a visual on what i will try and do, i hope it loads up.

comments or advice are welcome,
peace guys :)

I added a picture here of what i have got done so far, I had it running and made some videos but the machine was bouncing all over the place and things came loose so, its just running on gas right now till i get an HHO cell built.

Very nice!  Russ is working on something a little simple with recycling exhaust gasses.  I don't have the link handy but it's on here somewhere.

hello my friend!

looking good!

funny the devices on your drawing resemble other things and its hard to fallow as i see what the device really is lol.

any way i get the idea and know you have done your research on the chemical prosses...

also see my thoughts here:

good stuff and i will be watching! :)

PS. you dont need luck! you got skill! take it and run! lol ~Russ

Thanks for the replies, this is my first project but im haveing a blast doing it. I know the drawing is a little LOL, but its more less a flow chart.
I checked out your thread on the GEN set looks good :)

A super charged rocket fueled engine lol.
