I found this open source video player while browsing around after being frustrated with Youtube:

The demos sure work faster than Youtube does.

I'm starting to wonder if hosting my own videos on my website is a better idea.  Not sure how my hosting handles high bandwidth though.

The only problem is that you cannot seek threw the video until it loads. There is suppose to be an add-on to fix that, but, i couldn't figure it out

You can load some videos to open-source-energy.org if you wanted to test out the speed there. :)
