Webcam Purchase. . .
« on February 3rd, 2012, 01:45 PM »
Hey guys, I have a new project on the go,  I am doing a vlog of me getting back into shape with all my nutrition and workout information. .

I'm looking for a good webcam for this.  I'm wanting a 720p minimum.  probably 1080 would be wiser.

Any idea's on cams to check out?  I know NOTHING about them all. . .I am on a budget so it's a price/quality medium I'm looking for.

Idea's?

Thanks guys!

~Russ

ha... i just looked for 5 hrs on a cam that i wanted for the live shows and...

here is what i finaly picked out.

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-LifeCam-Cinema-720p-Webcam/dp/B002MCZJ78/ref=pd_vtp_e_1

they make a 1080P cam its the pro version of this one but reviews are worse than this one and also you need extra software just to make the 1080P work... hahaha that's silly. also you need a supper pc to run it... crazy i know but i did a lot of research on it.

Ill be live with this cam Sunday night/Monday morning. i Picked this one for the wide angle...  (thanks to ROD for getting it to me...)

so you may find something that's not wide angle but i needed wide angle.

its 720P looks grate but i can only broadcast in low def. so the live show wont show the cams HD.

an how so far i like it.

the other thing is i picked this one over Logitech C910. but others say that's a good cam also.

all the other ones i picked out had bad auto focus problems...  including the higher up including the Microsoft LifeCam Studio so... so far so good. but your pc must be good or your recordings in 710P will not work as good the way i understand it.

good luck!!!

PS. this cam looks big but its like 2" long and 1" round... guessing... but it's tinny

Nice, I ended up buying the higher end Microsoft one, and it's great quality but Russ was spot on, needs special software to do 1080p, won't work out of the box and the auto focus has serious issues!!! I will be returning it and going with the 720p version.  It takes up 30% of my quad core i3. . which is as Russ puts it, just silly lol.

Thanks for the feed back guys!

sweet, i hope it works as good as mine. so far i still like it! i has some small auto focus problems but it was when the cam was pointed at a solid color object... so it could not find anything to focus on... so that make sense...
