Lists of endangered species comes out here and there.
And the number 1 reason to why is still on account of what humans do.
What's missing then?
Education?
Concern?
Empathy?

Capitalism takes no consideration of the trail of destruction needed for the system to work. It cares not about the poverty created, the slave labor in which three quarters of the world's population serve the other quarter, it cares not about hunters killing animals in third world Countries so that the hunters can try and replicate the American dream. It's not education, concern or empathy, it's a way of life that sucks life out of the planet that it occupies.

I'm not sure Lynx.  I think it's learned.  Humans learn to become asshats.  I don't think they're born that way, maybe a few, but not the majority.  They get thrown into a system that makes them ruthless and self-centered, then the pattern repeats.  I see teenagers today that wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire, let alone take out the garbage or clean their room.  The next generation will be even worse, if there is a next generation.  The system knows how to manipulate human behavior and starts very early.  I think they've even gotten to a point where this behavior actually modifies DNA so it become more systemic than ever.

It will take some massive enlightenment to turn this around before it self destructs.  I have no idea when or where that might come from and won't be all that surprised if it never comes.

Also very true.
Far from everyone have that mindset to actually give a f about things which happens to, like for example then, wildlife on our planet.
Poverty is being exploited into making the already rich even more rich, so extinction of other species doesn't really count as all that important for those in need.

The World game changer is still lurking, hopefully in this very forum.
Maybe it is that simple, while also being that hard.
What else could be able to stop the madness of mankind, short of a comet or ET invasion or Earth opening itself up to get rid of us infesting fleas who's wreaking havoc all over the place.

Archelogic finds show that humans come and go as human footprints in dinosaur footprints show

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7XOAl70GzM

humans will get extinct as they did thousands of times before.

they will continue so until they end to be narrow minded and start to use remote viewing and similar mind expanding methods to intensify empathy and get responsible and live sustained.

what can we expect from a western carreer model that supports non empathic psychopaths to enter leading positions?

If you have something worthwhile to share Gunther then please find it in your heart to let us know all about it.
I appreciate that which you're willing to share with us all, so if it could help us all to move beyond this path of destruction that which is currently running this small planet the I'm all ears.
It doesn't have to be HHO related, that's just icing on the cake.
