Hey Russ.
This "new" source of energy is very exciting to me, as it should be to everyone.
Most people are aware of some sort of alternative energy like wind,
solar and geothermal, but for the most part,
that's as far as their knowledge goes.
These forms of energy production are all good, but they all share in one
common shortcoming.None of them can produce enough energy by themselves
to make a large difference in getting us out of the fossil fuel trap.
The main reason for this is due to factors of scale. Wind farms and
solar powerplants are large due to the fact that these forms of energy are not
"concentrated" enough to be constrained into small spaces like a factory building.
Geothermal is an exception to this, but it is limited by the fact that
suitable sites are not widespread.
Very few are aware that there are several different new or re-discovered
terchnologies that are emerging that can be intense enough to make a difference
by themselves, but cold fusion is probably the most promising of them all.
Another I can think of right off the top of my head is Fuel From Air,
but that is fodder for another discussion.
I could ramble on forever because I am excited about it, but space here is limited.
Hey, I want to thank Jean-Paul and you for this introduction and I hope to see this
topic blossom into fully ripe fruit right here on this thread.
Also thanks to the company you work at for giving you the opportunity and
time to present this to us.
ciao
