agree there is a theory that much of the earths water came from comets, but the energy contained within h and o, is thought to have come from the interior of stars, huge pressures and temperatures where elements could be formed from protons/neutrons etc etc.

correct. that´s the energy we can harvest by applying water-for-fuel technology.

and we will need to access that energy to desalinate our planet´s main water ressources, the oceans.

interestingly its not too difficult to replicate extreme high temperatures, using lenses to concentrate sunlight, I remember reading many many years ago some researches had achieved equivalent temp of surface of sun using lenses and sunshine.......a bit off topic!
