Thanks for sharing
Too bad they've omitted the costs in comparison to that of asphalt on their site, but according to Huffingtonpost it's
Quote
The site points out that asphalt costs between US$3 and $15 per square foot, whereas the cost per solar panel could amount to about $70 per square foot based on 2010 calculations by the company.
These numbers probably suits TPTB just fine as they're only interested in seeing the precious oil based asphalt being distributed all over the map but at the same time it's hard to overlook the other costs (if that's what you want to call them) that which will be reduced by this, like snow shoveling, corroding salt, roadkills, winter accidents, etc.

The most interesting cost reduction of them all would of course be to know how much less the costmileage would be for all the drivers? :-D

It would be nice to see some input on just how tough this is though, like how well they fare when for example a truck runs over them with a pebble stuck in one of the wheels.

I love the concept though, let's hope this, or something like this, will be the future for our roads.
