MakerWare Slicing Software

MakerWare Slicing Software

So I have a question guys,

I stumbled across this software the other day:
http://www.makerbot.com/makerware/

I downloaded and installed it.  Seems that it has its own slicer algorithms in it and will output g-code to a file.  I don't yet have a configuration on my Planet-CNC Controller for metric g-code, so it puked when I tried to load a file built with MakerWare.  What I'm wondering is if any of you guys that have functional 3D Printers have tried the MakerWare software and know if it works or not with something other than a genuine MakerBot.

In the meantime, I'll continue working on my CNC Router to 3D Printer conversion and once I have all the hardware figured out, I'll open a thread for it.  I'd kind of like to get an idea what I'm going to do for software though.  For CNC Routing, I do all my drawings in IronCAD, then CAM the exports with MasterCAM and finally push the g-code to my Planet CNC Controller to drive the machine.  For 3D Printing, I'm screwed trying to use MasterCAM, so I'm looking for a good replacement.  I messed with Slic3r a little bit and it will probably work with enough tweaking, but if there is something better/easier out there, I'm all ears.

Matt I have not tried Makerware software, so I can not say if it will work or not. I plan on setting up one of my printers with the LCD and SD card setup so I won't need to use the computer to interface with. Also will be using Marlin software, I think is the latest, best software version at this time

There is also replicator G which I have not used, it can run a generic CNC machine.
