The printer is too awesome, I hope there's a desktop version out soon, I'm too lazy to build one myself.
It would be sweet to have a 3D scanner to go with it so you can replicate >whatever< you'd like to.......except maybe for gold and cash

Hello there Lynx, there are a multitude of desktop 3d printers out there, ready made but in many cases proprietary, that's why it's best to build one.
It's really not that hard, hardest part is the software as Russ stated.
If you and Matt would each build one I'm sure I myself, FP and Russ would help you through it. What do you think?:D

I'd be willing to attempt to retrofit a print head on my Probotix CNC.  As far a completely new printer...?  I just don't have the room to even use it, let alone build it.

I was hoping you would say that, what size filament would you want to extrude 1.75mm or 3mm?

Is there some kind of reciever or mounting surface that an extuder could be adapted to?  Or would you rather have the print head installed along side the router head?

It has a four bolt mount as seen here that can come off the Z axis:

I'm using the Dewalt DWP611 spindle mount.  If I can get to it, I'll try and decipher the dimensions--have a pretty sizable pile of plastic snow to wade through.  hehe
