You mean one of these:

I wish I had one dead or alive.

I checked eBay and didn't see any listings "for parts".  Found one with an opening bid of $500 is all.

Craig's List didn't get any hits either.

Yep!  That's the one.  I saw the $500 listing.  If it's been in service since 2009, it is dead - and that is why the surplus outfit has it now...

I only have a dead cheap china plug in grid tie here.  Didn't last very long at all.
Which China inverter did you get??  I looked at several, currently settled for Masspower SUN-1000G - still working...
I got a Masspower SUN-300G, I took it apart and can't find any noticable problems.  It don't "turn on" anymore.

Thanks for the feedback, good to know..  I opened the 1000G for a look see before placing it into service.  There were three identical inductors, I assume for the boost converter section.  I got the impression that the inverters are essentially built by paralleling 300W (or 330W) sections to build the desired output.

I suppose I will know more when it fails and I have to do repairs...
