I recently got a G+ account and I found this community

G+ Open Source Energy Research

I'm not sure if you and they are linked... but it's there so... yeah... just sharing.

I've already posted a link to here for the (including me: now 6) members.

Could be an idea to make a list of new energy research sites and fora. Especially some that are doing similar stuff as here.
