You're quite the wizard Russ, love your builds.
Have you tried hall effect sensors instead of reed switches?
Just playing with the idea that the motor could run longer on one capacitor charge with the magnets not "stealing" quite as much momentum away from the reed switches as they would from hall effect sensors.
