I've just watch the epsom salts battery being made. OK so far so good, many materials can produce the battery effect, so has anyone got the characteristics for the cell? Discharge curve, capacity density?

I think there definitely needs to be some sort of organized attempt to try different 'recipes' on the crystal cell batteries and see what works best. The amperage measurements go WAY up by short circuiting them but the voltage goes down quite a bit. I wonder what these can do in series, parallel, short circuited?!?
I am intrigued and it doesn't look terribly expensive to make some preliminary tests.

So I had an Idea last night on how to build these..

Once the Minersals(Salts) are cook and Liquified. Maybe It should be poured into a mold then placed in a dehydrator or Oven on lowest setting. I think this would keep the crystal structure more intact, as well as give us more options for molds. Sending some feelings of love and gratitude into the minerals could possibly enhanced the structure as well! The mold could be cover in a masking tape for easy removal.

Do larger crystals have any better effect? If so then the temperature needs to cool very very slowly to create large crystals.  Maybe putting them in a stainless vacuum insulated thermos to cool would work.

I've been working on DIY batteries myself the last couple weeks only I've been using aluminum and pultruded carbon as my electrodes and Durham's water putty (mostly gypsum and it gets really hard) as the 'base' for my electrolyte.
I've been posting on IB's thread over at the OU forum but eventually I would like to have a couple places to post my data/results/whatever. That thread is getting very long heh heh...
I will try to stop by more often...
