Ionized water for EDM machine
This machine uses brass wire to cut metal, very precise cutting.

RE: Ionized water for EDM machine
The Best thing about these machines are they don't care how hard the steel is. They are CNC controlled and the top and bottom Wire guides work independently of each other. It would actually be a very good way to make the internal taper for the end of the water injector.

RE: Ionized water for EDM machine
Wow, awesome machine. Any idea how much voltage and amperage it uses?

RE: Ionized water for EDM machine
There was a book of how to instructions on how to build one of these little gems, I'll see if I can find it.

RE: Ionized water for EDM machine
Ok guys, I found and joined a yahoo forum, that with all the information they supply, you could build your own EDM, electronics, movements, tank and so on. Cool site, here
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/EDMHomeBuilders/ Some of this could possibly apply to the popper. As for most if not all of mans inventions and discoveries, we have or had to observe Gods Creation's, this in it'self proves he exists. Rom. 1:20. Have a good one, Jeff.

RE: Ionized water for EDM machine
Have a read through this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_..._machining The extract below describes part of the same process but you make the shape you want into a copper electrode and feed it into the workpiece this is why i was suggesting it as a method to make the internal taper in the water injector the wire edm may do it aswell providing it would clear the other side of the tube this would be determined by the angle of the taper "Prototype production The EDM process is most widely used by the mold-making tool and die industries, but is becoming a common method of making prototype and production parts,[26] especially in the aerospace, automobile and electronics industries in which production quantities are relatively low. In sinker EDM, a graphite, copper tungsten or pure copper electrode is machined into the desired (negative) shape and fed into the workpiece on the end of a vertical ram." |
