The Coils and Testing Threads are really the same thing, just split to reduce load time.
(Part 2)

This a a micro star-ship coil. it is 3/8" OD

Here is a tiny Rodin coil. the wire is thinner than your hair!

Hey guys, I have just built my first Star Chalice coil, (actually I built 2 but the first one wasn't tight enough.

[Image: photo.php?fbid=10151541149120639&set...mp;theater]

I had a thought about bifiliar winding one of these... Do one layer of phase 1 and then 1 layer of the second phase 10 degrees clockwise from the start of the first phase leaving the third phase free as in the rodin coil...

Has this been done before?
Does that even make sense...?

PM firepinto, I think he will be able to answer your question, Jeff.Big Grin

I'm not sure if that has been done before. I actually haven't tried making a star chalice coil. It's worth a try to experiment and see if there is different results. Cool
I mostly messed around with rodin style windings in a different type of multiplication table sequence. You can see what I did here:

these coils seem to be better as a pickup coil than an output coil... Smile

i have done bifilir starship with an offset of 10 degrees.

i have built a bifilar with no offset on a Star Chalice coil. was going to use it as a dubble pulse coil...

all depends on the application! Smile

build, test, post, learn! Smile

just subscribing. I hope someone can help me figure out how to subscribe to a thread without posting a message. The program doesn't seem to let me do that.

Yes, I've tried doing that. I get some kind of incompatible message. My work-around has been to post a message, which then causes me to be become subscribed. I have also figured out that I can go back and delete the meaningless message, and still remain subscribed to the thread. I just can't figure out why the "subscription" link doesn't work directly. Anyway, I am managing to get subscribed to all the topics which interest me. Thanks much for responding.

PS Here's the exact message: Authorization code mismatch. Are you accessing this function correctly? Please go back and try again.

I always get that message when I click on the link to subscribe to a thread without posting a message.
